How to install VirtualBox on Ubuntu 20.04 (Syria)

Install repository GPG key:

# wget -q -O- | sudo apt-key add –
# wget -q -O- | sudo apt-key add –

Add the following line to /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb focal contrib

Update the package index:

# sudo apt-get update

Install virtualbox-6.1 deb package:

# sudo apt-get install virtualbox-6.1

. Become a “vboxuser” in Host machine (local machine)

To be able to get access to an attached USB device, the Ubuntu host user needs to be in the vboxusers group. Add your user to this group by running the following command

sudo usermod -aG vboxusers

and reboot or logout/login.
